Planning applications and the
Kibworth Neighbourhood Plan

Under the Localism Act (2014),  neighbourhood plans are an essential element of the local planning process.  Our plan is part of Harborough District's overall development strategy. Together with the Harborough Core Strategy and Local Plan, it is the starting point for the determination of planning applications in the Kibworth villages.

After consultations and examinations, the approval of residents was sought at a referendum held on Thursday 25th January 2018.  98.3% of those who voted wanted our plan to be consulted by Harborough District Council whenever relevant planning applications were being considered.   1111 residents voted Yes.  77 voted No, with three spoilt papers. The turnout was 28.4%.

All the consultations, research and reports that contributed to the final plan can be downloaded below.

Planning Applications

Harborough District Council (HDC) is the Local Planning Authority for this area.  Planning applications are published on the HDC website where members of the public can submit comments. Larger planning applications are decided at meetings of the Planning Committee which are open to the public. The Parish Council is consulted on all applications.
