Calls for permanent enforcement of speed limit on Great Glen Bypass
District and County councillors in Kibworth are calling for permanent enforcement of the speed limit by installing cameras on the Great Glen bypass between Kibworth and Great Glen.
This follows speed checks by police over several months which have recorded motorists driving at speeds in excess of the national speed limit for dual carriageways.
The most recent police check recorded 78 vehicles travelling in excess of 80 mph between 7.00am and 9.00am with two drivers travelling at over 100mph. The highest recorded speed was 122mph.
