Joint Recreation Commitee agrees on strategies for the future
At its meeting on Wednesday 29th May, the Kibworth Joint Recreation Committee welcomed new members and agreed key strategies for the future.
The Committee approved proposals to seek professional advice on re-using the former skatepark site by new landscaping and planting to improve the ecology of the area. It also agreed to seek further advice on the maintenance of the wildlife pond and wetland area at Rookery Close.
The Committee agreed to purchase new goalposts, subject to acceptable quotations, to be installed on the Warwick Road recreation ground, south of the car park off Barnard's Way.
Members also decided to invite the community to set up a Community Skatepark Group to investigate potential sites for a new skatepark and to draw up designs, specifications and costings.
