Leicestershire County Council confirms 3.99% council tax increase


The County Council's share of council tax will rise by 3.99% from April. This equates to £1 a week for a Band D property and will generate an extra twelve million pounds.

Most of this will be used to support the growth in the number of adult social care service users and children in care.

The budget, agreed on Wednesday 20th February, includes savings in several areas through efficiency initiatives.   The Council also agreed to set aside some funds to continue subsiding certain rural bus services.
