Melbourne Close Green Space to be refurbished

Kibworth Beauchamp parish councillors have approved a quotation for the refurbishment of the Melbourne Close Green Space.

The work will involve erecting fencing along the boundary, removing self-seeded shrubs and trees and pruning the mature trees.  The ground will be levelled and the grass re-seeded.

The work will cost in the region of £2,500 and will be funded by a 'penalty payment' from Miller Homes for trespassing on the land when a new sewer was being laid.

The area was purchased by Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council to preserve it as a recreational space.  It is used and enjoyed by many local residents.
