At the meeting of Kibworth Beauchamp Parish Council on Tuesday 26th February 2019, councillors heard about an exciting new project at Kibworth Golf Club to encourage older people to exercise safely. It's the first such course in the country.
It was decided to close the present Village Hall Youth Club at the end of the current school term because of low attendance, but councillors resolved to consult with young people, schools and organisations working with young people locally, to determine other facilities which the parish council could support and seeking additional funding for.
The Council heard that the Joint Recreation Committee was moving forward with the installation of adult fitness equipment near the Warwick Road car park off Barnard's Way thanks to a generous gift from the estate of a former resident, and with designs for a new skatepark.
However, councillors felt that both projects must be seen against a backdrop of serious concerns by homeowners living near the locations about anti-social behaviour. It was agreed that a summary of the concerns expressed on social media would be circulated and that the police and other community service organisations would be contacted.
The full Minutes of the meeting are available on the Parish Council's website at www.kbpc.org.uk.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 26th March 2019 at 7.00pm in the Studio at Kibworth Grammar School Hall. All residents are welcome to attend, and any matters which residents would like the Council to discuss should be sent to the Parish Clerk by email - firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday 19th March.
